Biography: Samantha Jean Delessio was born on November 7, 1988 to parents Melissa Delessio and Raymond Delessio. Being almost three months premature her parents were told not to worry when she didn't reach the milestones most children did. At 18 months old she was diagnosed with Quad-Spastic Cerebral Palsy. Until the age of 9 Samantha was confined to a wheelchair, from there she moved up step by step to the next piece of equipment offered to her, determined not to let her disability control her. At age 16 she began enrolling herself in all Allied Health courses her school had to offer. After completing medical school Samantha now specializes in oncology, pediatrics, trauma and general medicine.
