Dr. Jennifer "Jenna" Darling sat at her long time best friend Damien DeCarlo's bedside. Damien had been in a serious collision on his motorcycle earlier that afternoon. He wasn't wearing his helmet at the time of the collision, which Jenna knew was unlike him. He'd been at Mercy General for four hours by that point and he was still completely unresponsive. The longer he stayed that way the more of a chance there was that he would never wake up. Jenna took Damien's left hand in both of hers and squeezed in gently. "Damien," Jenna said softly, her voice shaking. "Damien, it's Jenna Bell you gotta wake up for me ," she pleaded. "C'mon, show me you're still in there, squeeze my hand if you can hear me."

Damien moved slightly at the sound of Jenna's voice but he didn't wake up.

"C'mon Damien," Jenna pleaded. "Come back to me please."

Damien groaned softly as he again moved slightly.

"I know you're in there," Jenna said, rubbing the back of his hand with her thumb. "You gotta prove these idiots I work with wrong, they don't think you'll wake up," she added. "but they don't know you like I do, you'll come back, I know it."

Damien gave her hand a light squeeze, before groaning again.

Jenna smiled. "there you go Damien that's it," Jenna said. "That's it."

Damien opened his eyes but briefly but shut them again because of the brightness.

"Hey," Jenna said gently. "Welcome back, you had us scared for a while."

"What happened?" asked Damien softly, his whole body hurting.

"You were in an accident on your bike," Jenna said. "You don't remember?"

Damien shook his head "No not really." he answered.

This concerned Jenna. This was a sign of a serious head injury. "Do you know where you are?" Jenna asked.

"Yeah at the hospital you work at right?" he asked.

Jenna nodded. "That's right," Jenna said. "What's the last thing you remember before you woke up?"
